>From Frank Mantlik8/2 Milford, Silver Sands SP, 7:40 pm - drab adult WHITE-FACED IBIS.  At 7:15, 27 dark Ibis (Glossies - adults and a few juveniles) flew onto the grassy field to join the Canada Goose flock.  A quick scan could not locate the WF.  Quickly thereafter a guy running his dog scared up all the ibis, which flew toward the salt marsh.  I located the WHITE-FACED with a flock of Glossies in a small salt pond in the marsh west of the pedestrian boardwalk.  The sun popped out, nicely illuminating the bird's red eyes. A few record photos obtained.
8/2 Stratford, Short Beach, 5:30 pm - 350+ Common Terns (many juveniles), 4 Red Knots, usual other shorebirds, 1 Purple Martin on a wire nearby (Riverdale Dr.).
8/1 Stratford, Short Beach, 5 pm - 1 Red Knot, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Peregrine Falcon, 300 Common Terns.
