Hi All,

Jayne, at The Recovery Wing admitted an emaciated tern earlier today, found on the road at Waite Street in Hamden (near the water co).

She's pretty sure it's a juvenile common tern, dusky primaries, brownish bars on the back and dark carpal bar.

It only weighs 64 grams, should be at 120, having trouble standing.
It's in the process of being rehydrated then will probably be transferred to Tufts Wildlife Clinic. The Recovery Wing doesn't handle terns, we have some questions on them.

How common, or not, are they inland?
Do young terns stay with their parents through migration?
