Frank & all;

In the instances of injured, sick and orphaned birds, the state and USF&W recognize the "Good Samaritan"
principle where permits are not required in order to assist said birds.

Hi all,

It should be noted that it is?illegal to catch wild birds without a permit.? Sick or injured birds can be transported to a rehabilitator, but the actual catching of birds requires a federal permit.
