A nice morning at Hammonasset the highlight being unusually close looks at
a White-winged Scoter at Meig's Point. Apparently the bird has been there
for weeks. Amazingly, it came out of the water and preened on the beach
for several minutes allowing excellent views. The King Eider was present at
the end of the Moraine Trail. There were few mosquitos today but lots of
poison ivy around the trail.
