Andy Griswold called to report a basic-plumaged RED PHALAROPE seen
from the CAS Swallow Cruise this evening as they were on the CT River
in Old Lyme. The bird landed on the water next to the boat briefly
before flying off. Andy and cruise participants also saw 250,000 Tree
Swallows (no, not a typo; this is a daily amazing spectacle that has
to be seen to be believed) and 3 Blue-winged Teal.
