New Haven, Lighthouse Point hawk watch - moderate NW winds held up into early afternoon and a clear sky quickly filled in with clouds, contributing to a good count of 267 raptors of 7 sps, including 185 Sharp-shinned Hawks, a Peregrine Falcon but no Bald Eagles or Broad-winged Hawks. Now is the time to see the big Broad-winged push at inland sites.  Lighthouse is not a prime Broad-wing spot, and the best BW counts here are often a bit later than the inland peak dates.

Other migrants of note: 1 WHIMBREL, 55 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, c 120 Bobolinks, 2 DICKCISSELS. Various forays into the woods yielded 7 sps of warblers. Lots of good eyes on the skies, including Nick Bonomo, Bill Banks, Lynn James, Dori Sosensky, Julian Hough, Jim Zipp, Don Morgan, Paul Desjardins, Dan Barvir, Judy Moore, Marty Moore, Dennis Varza, Randy Domina and Richard English.
