Walked along the first four impoundments @ Barn Island Management Area
from 7-9 am. At least a dozen great egrets in the first impoundment
were accompanied by five or six glossy ibis, maybe more. Nice view of
a pair of kestrels hunting over the 4th impoundment from the lone tree
out in the marsh (south of the trail.) A juvenile and one, possibly
two adult marsh wrens were most cooperative, hopping around in the
groundsel bushes next to the trail in the same spot. Many flyover
tree swallows. Overall, a somewhat slow but beautiful morning.
