I went back to the river to get better counts of birds. Yesterday
there was a Peregrine Falcon sitting on the nesting bar.

Stratford and Milford 7:20 to 12:00
Refuge, Access Rd. Pool, Airport, Long Beach, Seawall, Short Beach,
West River, Milford Pt. to Laurel Beach.

At high tide most of the Cormorants were in a feeding frenzy between
the bars and the breakwater. About 20 of the Snowy Egrets were on the
bars trying to get in on the party. Interestingly, the only gulls
joining in were Ring-billed Gulls. The Herrings showed no interest.

The peeps were on the nesting bar and quit tame. Standing there
trying to count the birds, they would walk up so close while feeding
I couldn't focus my binoculars.

At Mondo Pond there were 17 Greater Yellowlegs, 22 American Wigeon
and 3 Pied-billed Grebes. The grebes were the first I've seen this fall.
