10/9 - Waterford and E.Lyme:
 
Harkness Park, Waterford: birds were either in the Niering  Conservation 
area  (west side of park) or in the "sparrow pit/dirt mound"  area near the 
greenhouses undergoing renovation (east side)
 
1 BLUE GROSBEAK (imm. or f.)
1 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH
1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW (imm.)
1 swamp sparrow
10 white-throated sparrows
50+ song sparrows
10 e. phoebes
5 palm warblers
4 yellow-rumped warblers
6 great egrets
4 snowy egrets
1 Coopers hawk
 
Nathan Hale Rd., E. Lyme (off  Dean Rd.) - along path near farm fields  at 
end of road
 
3 field sparrows feeding together in path
2 swamp sparrows
several white-throated sparrows, catbirds, and phoebes
 
 
 ponds and path behind Sunset Ribs restaurant, near fishing  boats at mouth 
of Niantic River,Waterford:
 
1 LITTLE BLUE HERON  (imm.)
2 swamp sparrows
1 savannah sparrow
3 white-throated sparrows
1 common yellowthroat f.
1 ruby-crowned kinglet
1 red-shouldered hawk
