10/20 Madison, Hammonasset State Park - Had the day off and spent 1 to 4 p.m.at Hammo. HUDSONIAN GODWIT glued to rain pool past the West Beach parking area; other shorebirds:  11 Black-bellied Plovers, 8 Greater Yellowlegs, 70 Dunlin, juv 1 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER,  1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 1 dowitcher sp.
Also 8 HORNED LARKS in West Beach parking lot, 3 AMERICAN PIPITS in Meigs parking field; 3 imm WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS near rotary.
An ad Red-tailed Hawk drew a crowd that watched it eat a gull in the Meigs field
