Southport Survey # 204
The loons continue to be about, but not as many as last week. No
Laughing Gulls this time. Around Sunken Island swarmed the Red-
breasted Mergansers and the Black Ducks, and the Goldeneye.

The Pied-billed Grebe was gone from the golf course, and otherwise
was pretty empty. The first Great Cormorant of the season was seen on
the channel marker off Southport Beach, the same one the Ospreys nest
on.
