11/26 Middlebury, Rt. 64, Lake Quassapaug - We enjoyed scope views of the continuing PACIFIC LOON from 3-3:30pm as viewed from the (private) Quassy Amusement Park beach. The water was quite calm, and lighting was excellent, though the loon was too far for any better photos. Also there were 2 KILLDEER, 1 Bufflehead, and a flock of herring & ring-billed gulls.

11/26 Stratford:
Stratford Point - 1 COMMON EIDER, 1 NORTHERN GANNET, 1 Am. Kestrel, the continuing distant flock of white-winged & surf scoters now totalling 1000, as well as close-in 64 surf scoters, 1 greater scaup, 3 Common Mergansers (unusual in salt water), 1 long-tailed duck, and a few common & red-throated loons. Where are all the grebes?

Long Beach - at least 53 Red-throated Loons (singly or in groups of up to 8), 4 Common Loons. 12 Hooded Mergansers in marsh channels.

small pond at intersection of Lordship Blvd (Rt. 113) and Surf Ave.- 1 GREAT EGRET
