I birded the Lordship peninsula of Stratford 12/8, and found the following highlights:
Lordship Seawall - 10 NORTHERN GANNETS
Stratford Point - 2 NORTHERN GANNETS, 1st-winter COMMON EIDER, actual count of 1700+ scoters offshore (estimated 75% surf, 25% white-winged, calm sea conditions though backlighting), EASTERN MEADOWLARK, Am Kestrel, Harrier.
There were many red-throated loons around (est. 60), but relatively few gulls.
Also 60 Am. Wigeon in Johnson Creek (off northbound exit 30).

12/7 Westport, Beachside Ave. , 7:10am - adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL below the bluff east of Burying Hill Beach.
No sign of any white pelicans. It's possible that on Sunday afternoon the flock cut across the Sound to Long Island.
