12/19, Stratford yard (12:15a-1:30p)-
(1) Eagle sps. (working on the ID now...80/20 Bald/Golden)
(2) E. Towhee (both male, scratching under feeders)
(23) Goldfinches
(1) adult male Cooper's Hawk
The Cooper's hawk was been present for 4 days now.... almost as long as feeder activity has spiked. Also around were/are 3 Song sparrows, 24+ White-throated sparrows, 5-6 Juncos, 1 Brown Creeper and a "sniff-by" coyote last nigth around midnight. (Walking by while sniffing).
Monk parakeets are certainly growing in population. Never had one over my condos until this spring.... never at the feeders until this fall. Stratford/Milford circle had the highest Monk Parakeet count in the whole CBC last year!! To be proud, or not... hmmmm.
