Noteworthy birds observed during the course of the day on Stratford Point: 1 Eastern Meadowlark, 3 Northern Gannet, 14 Snow Bunting, 4 Horned Lark, 9 Savannah Sparrows (including 1 Ipswich race), 1 Horned Grebe, 3 Red-throated and 2 Common Loon, White-winged & Surf Scoters, Common Goldeneye, Long-tailed Ducks and the other usual suspects.

While I was driving through Great Meadows marsh on Lordship Blvd around 11:30AM, a helicopter taking off from the end of the Sikorsky Airport runway flushed 2 nearby Northern Harriers, 2 Canvasbacks and a flock of Hooded Mergansers. At the same time two Common Raven were checking out the abandoned Oprey nest on the antenna tower by the airport entrance.
