Southport Survey # 215
There was no wind and the water was rippled. The tide was low and
Sunken Island was well exposed. Ducks were busy off shore flying
about. The Long-tailed Ducks were mostly in the distance The
Goldeneye and Most of the Balck Ducks around Sunken Island. The Brant
were mostly at sunken island and other scattered along the shore.
Consistent with the flat water there was 11 Horned Grebes.

The Golf Course ponds were frozen again and the harbor was open in
patches. The harbor again contained the geese and Hooded Mergansers.
There was a general increase in the puddle ducks. There was no sign
of Bonaparte’s Gulls or shorebirds.
