There were at least 150 Lesser Scaup and 3 Ruddy Ducks near the seawall at
St.Mary's in Bridgeport this morning. This is located between Ash Creek,
which separates Bridgeport from Fairfield to the West, and Black Rock Harbor
to the East.
There was another group of scaup farther offshore, numbering about 125
birds. I could not ID that group as to the particular species of scaup
because they were too far out and in the sun glare and minor chop.
Also observed were 5 Great Cormorants, with the white flank patch now
easily visible on 2 of them.
