[CT Birds] Bird and color blue color vision

I looked up bird vision in Ornithology 3rd edition by Gill. Bird can see a greater range of color than we can. Into the violet and ultraviolet spectrum. However, owls have few cone cells responsible for color vision, have have mostly rod cell for black and white vision.
Perhaps the cap is wrong.
