Please note that also in March the New Haven Bird Club's "Birds in
Words" book discussion group will be meeting on March 17. Here are
the details:

Wednesday, March 17 - Birds in Words book discussion group. 7:00 pm
Hamden Miller Senior Center, 2901 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, behind the Hamden
Public Library. Free and open to the public.
The book to be discussed at this meeting will be "The Life of the Skies:
Birding at the End of Nature" by Jonathan Rosen. "Life of the Skies is
more than just a bird book. It is a thoughtful and often unexpected
exploration of birding through the lens of history, literature and
loss-the process, as author Jonathan Rosen says, of loving a diminished
but still seductive world." -Scott Weidensaul, author of Living on the
Wind and Of a Feather. Rosen explores the theme of how technology allows
us to preserve wildlife while at the same time technology contributes to
its demise and composes an elegy of how wilderness is the thing of the
past. Join us to discuss the various themes he explores in the book.
