Today around noon I witnessed about 80-100 Greater Scaup fly in from the sound and settle down in Greenwich Harbor, just west of Steamboat point. They were feeding actively and hard to count, though swimming in a tight flock. Haven't seen too many this winter- there was just a pair in the harbor earlier in the week--so it was a pleasant surprise on a wet day.  Also around: six brant, one coot and at grassy island, two killdeer and two Bonapart's gulls.
