[CT Birds] cleaning binoculars

I use 91% rubbing alcohol to clean binocular lenses.  I first use a Q-tip to lightly brush off any grit, then dip the other end in alcohol and clean the lens, drying with a microfiber cloth..  The alcohol cleans well, and leaves little or no residue.....  I learned this from a Swarovski rep who was cleaning binoculars at a birding festival..    Frank Gallo
