[CT Birds] Likely OT: Hi-pitched nighttime single call--Bird, Toad or Frog?

Quite possibly a flying squirrel. They make many different little high pitched sounds at night, they are much more common than you'd suspect and are here year-round. Smear some peanut butter on a tree trunk that you can put a (not so bright) light on and see if any show up.
