A few sighting's from around the greater Hartford area the past five days...

6 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 2 NORTHERN HARRIER, numerous WILSON'S SNIPE and 2 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW (in heavy molt) from the South Windsor Meadows.

2 AMERICAN KESTREL in the Hartford north meadows farm fields. Possible nesting pair and possible source of summer landfill sighting's. Also, the BALD EAGLE nest (in the north meadows) for some strange reason is not being used this year.... I did see a pair of adult eagles a few weeks ago carrying sticks from this area south along the river. Maybe a new nest is being built.

A MERLIN is still being seen around the State Capitol in Hartford.
