[CT Birds] Wilcox Park, Milford

5/14/2010  There was a good fallout this morning at Wilcox Park, Milford.  Highlights included 1 Spotted Sandpiper (uncommon here), at least 5 Swainson's Thrushes, 2 Hermit Thrushes, one singing, my first 4 Veerys of the year, 2 Red-eyed Vireos, a nice variety of warblers including, 1 singing Nashville, 1 singing Blackpoll, 2 Yellow, 4 Black & White (first female of the year), 1 Magnolia, 5 Ovenbirs, 2 singing Blackburnians, 1 displaying male Common Yellowthroat, 6 Black-throated Blues, all males, 5 Black-throated Greens, also all males, and 3 Yellow-rumped.  There were also  2 singing Scarlet Tanangers, and 2 singing Rose-breasted Grosbeakss, and several (3) Great Crested Flycatchers.. Not bad for 14 acres..  Frank Gallo
