Addendum: there was also a breeding-plumaged Common Loon and a few Least Terns off the seawall. And later on (5pm), after the thunderstorm, Linda & I saw an Eastern Meadowlark at Sikorsky Airport. Probably the same bird I had seen perched atop the fence Saturday morning.

Subject: [CT Birds] Royal Tern and N.Gannets
>From Frank Mantlik via Charlie Barnard
Frank Mantlik just called to say that he and his wife Linda are looking at
2 immature Northern Gannets which have been plunge-diving for awhile
directly offshore from the Stratford Seawall.
A Royal Tern also flew by the seawall, headed West down the sound.
