6/7 Old Saybrook, Harveys Beach - 7 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS with 30+ Semipalmated Sandpipers and one Semipalmated Plover; at a few other out-of-the way spots from Old Saybrook to Guilford small flocks of Semipalmated Sandpipers with a few Semipalmated Plovers were also noted as northbound migration continues.
Also along that stretch of coast were 3 Common Loons and several occupied Purple Martin houses; there were 4 flyby scoters, probably Surf Scoters, off Madison; Cedar Waxwings have been everywhere the past couple weeks, and they were noted at several spots in small numbers this morning; one breeding bird noted seemingly everywhere with good habitat was Willow Flycatcher;
