[CT Birds] Stratford Tern flock, etc.

7/20 Stratford, Long Beach Blvd., Warehouse Pond, 4pm - imm LITTLE BLUE HERON, 6 
Great Blue Heron, 12 Great Egret, 5 Snowy Egret.

Stratford, Short Beach Park (small fee for non-residents), 4:30 (mid tide, 
rising) - 860 Common Terns (mostly adults, but maybe 50+ juveniles), 2 Least 
Terns.  Most resting on bars and breakwater, but many flying/foraging.  Could 
pick out nothing unusual.

Stratford Point, 5-6pm  - 200 Common Terns, 300 Semipalmated Sandpipers.


7/19 Stratford, Sikorsky Airport (and nearby saltmarsh) -immature PEREGRINE 
FALCON, 27 Great Egrets, Clapper Rail and 5 mid-size young, singing Savannah 
Sparrow, virtual flock of 30 juvenile Am. Robins, drying off on fence after 
rainstorm.

Access Rd pool, opposite R.E. Michel (refilled with rain water, so shorebirding 
and railing will have to wait) - juv. Hooded Merganser.
