[CT Birds] The kite, white-rumped sandpiper and western willet

Just to note that the kite was probably forced off the cedar at  Milford 
Point by an Osprey, which usurped it's place. These 2 species  have 
"interacted" before. The kite was then relocated on a far sandbar with  gulls and 
cormorants.  Later, the kite was flushed again by people (not  birders) who were 
chasing birds on the sandbar.  That was shortly after  noon.  
 This morning there was a White-rumped Sandpiper among a small  number of 
shorebirds in the pools adjacent to the entrance booth at Long Beach,  on the 
marsh side at high tide. Also present in the marsh  were 4  Willets, at 
least one of which was an obvious Western Willet. When  last seen, they were 
flying deep out into the interior of the marsh.
