The level of Wright's Pond has gone down about 2', which does happen around
this time of year. So a juvenile Great Blue Heron was enjoying an easy
hunt , eating a small flat round fish this afternoon. It was stalking the
fish, went down on its "knees" and speared it. Although not unusual, it is
not a regular customer at Wright's Pond.
The other regular customers of Canada geese were in abundance. A killdeer
was there the other day.
