[CT Birds] WT Kite yes and no

The White-tailed Kite appeared on the cedars at Milford Point, as visible
from Stratford Point, just after 5PM. It remained there until around 7:20,
only flying around and hunting for a few minutes, not appearing very hungry
and not coming to Stratford Point. I think, once again, it was simply full
from a bigger than usual hunting morning. Hard to tell if this behavior will
keep up.

A weak cold front will be moving through the area tonight. This could spur a
bit more overnight migration, and it should push a few raptors through
tomorrow with northerly winds persisting likely through Saturday. These may
be very light or even nonexistent at times at the surface. Saturday morning
will be a decent one for passerine migrants as well. The continued lack of
powerful fronts combined with a full stomach and ongoing molt should keep
the kite here.
