9/15 Stratford
A great fall day for birding, especially hawks and shorebirds. Surprisingly few
migrant passerines.

Access Rd. pool - juv. STILT SANDPIPER, adult WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER
McKinney Refuge (Great Meadows) - Eastern Wood-pewee, Swainson's Thrush
Short Beach Park - 3 Red Knots, 8 juv. BLACK SKIMMERS
Stratford Point - Two birders from RI told me they enjoyed seeing the
WHITE-TAILED KITE for an hour this morning.

Boothe Park hawkwatch with Scott Kruitbosch and Charlie Barnard - About 2000
migrant raptors including about 1800 Broad-winged Hawks and 10 Bald Eagles.
Scott will probably provide more details later.
