Pomfret yard September 18-19:

Yesterday (the 18th) was hopping with migrants, today was very quiet, and
that has been the pattern for awhile.

Blackpoll Warbler (many)
BT Green Warbler
Am Redstart
Yellow Rumped Warbler
N. Parula
Magnolia Warbler
Red Eyed Vireo
Swainson's Thrush
Wood Thrush
RT Hummingbird
Pileated WP
Red Br. Nuthatch
Purple Finch---2
Great Blue Heron---first observed landing of one in the yard.
Barred Owls---at least two caterwauling last night at 8PM.
Cooper's Hawk---swooped after a Cardinal right over a gray squirrel, lost
the Cardinal in a bush, and flew up over the squirrel again to perch on a
nearby branch. The squirrel was completely indifferent.
