6:45-9:30AM Warm still morning, very busy, especially around sunrise. Walked the western trail with Judy and Trav, bushwhacked over the southern ridge, then followed the eastern trail along Mumford Cove back to Haley Farm, and ambled along Amtrak back to the parking lot -- 15 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swan, 6 American Black Duck, 3 Mallard, lots of Double Crested Cormorants, 2 Great Blue Heron, 3 Great Egret and one possible Snowy Egret, 1 Black-crowned Night Heron, 3 Turkey Vulture, 4 Osprey, 1 Coopers's Hawk (mobbed by sparrows), 2 unidentified Buteo, Ring-billed, Herring and Black-backed Gulls, Rock Pigeons, Mourning Doves, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 3 Downy Woodpecker, 2 Hairy Woodpecker, 8 Northern Flicker, 1 Eastern Wood-pewee, 4 Empidonx sp. (I think Willow Flycatchers, but no calls to distinguish them from Alder Flycatchers), 1 Blue-headed Vireo, 2 Red-eyed Vireo, 4 Blue Jay, 2 American Crow, lots of Black-capped Chickadee, 4 Tufted Titmouse, 2 Carolina Wren, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Gray Catbirds galore, 3 Northen Mockingbird, 1 Northern Parula, 1 Black-throated Blue Warbler, 3 Yellow-rumped Warbler, 2 Palm Warbler, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 2 Common Yellowthroat, 1 Eastern Towhee, Song Sparrows, 5 Northern Cardinal, 4 House Finch, American Gold Finches.
Still picking off deer ticks.
