The White-tailed Kite continued at Stratford Point this evening, appearing around 5:45 despite the many vehicles and people there. The crowd was present for other live raptors as a part of the Great Stratford Bird Festival. It hunted for about 35 minutes before capturing a large rodent, putting on a classic show for everyone. It ate it on the juniper as it often does. The tail feathers are still growing in, a few absent and a few partly in. It is in fantastic shape, as always, and showing no signs of any imminent departure. Once again this evening we had hundreds if not thousands of gulls hawking insects all over Stratford Point and Short Beach.

Stratford Point will be open early tomorrow so come visit for the kite, bird banding, other live birds of prey, and many more activities.
