Went to Bakersville Swamp New Hartford this morn -

Completely Dead !

On way back home, in an open overgrown field by the road with a stream running
through it with plenty of Alder bushes, it was just - HOPPIN HOT with birds!

Sparrows were everywhere - namely Song, White-throated, Chipping, with Swamps, 2
Lincoln's and 1 Im White-crowned. In a tree with good berry crop below it, were
at least 55 Purple Finch (most I ever saw in one group) and many Waxwings as
well. Pisshing near the Alders - out pops a late SWAINSON'S Thrush, 4 Palm and
2 Yellow rump Warblers, with many more all around in the trees. All the while
these birds were flying about here and there making it to difficult to count
totals.
