Good day to bird while bicycling...a mixed group of Sparrows on Wellsford
Rd. in Goshen included two Lincoln's Sparrows and one imm. White-crowned
Sparrow. Nearby on Woodridge Lake were two rafts of Ruddy Ducks, totaling
14, as well as a Bald Eagle and Osprey.
Back in the yard were a peak count of 24 Purple Finches and a mix including
a Brown Creeper, RB Nuthatch, Blue-headed Vireo, two Palm Warblers, and
numerous Yellow-rumped Warblers, Kinglets, Cedar Waxwings, Juncos and
Yesterday was a good day to keep an eye to the sky while doing yard work.
"V" formations of approx. 50 Canada Geese headed S / SW came over
regularly, totaling about 1100.
