[CT Birds] Kenn Kaufman to Speak in Litchfield - Oct 15th

Audubon Sharon will be hosting a free special event entitled “The Birds & Beans Talks” featuring birder and author Kenn Kaufman on Friday, October 15th, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Litchfield Community Center located in Litchfield, CT.   The event is co-sponsored by Litchfield Hills Audubon Society. At 6:00pm, Kenn will be available for chatting and booksigning (books will be available for purchase that evening) and representatives from Birds & Beans Coffee will be brewing free fresh environmentally friendly shade grown coffee for all participants. Light refreshments will be served and Birds & Beans Coffee will be available for purchase as well.  At 7:00pm, Kenn’s presentation on bird migration and the benefits of shade grown coffee for birds and their habitats will begin.
	In 2008, Kenn Kaufman was presented with the highest honor of the American Birding Association, the Roger Tory Peterson Award “for a lifetime of achievements in promoting the cause of birding.”  He is a field editor for Audubon and a contributor to every major birding magazine. Most of his time, however, has gone into writing books, such as Kingbird Highway, Flights Against the Sunset, Lives of American Birds, and Advanced Birding.  His own Kaufman Field Guides series now includes volumes on birds (in English and Spanish,) butterflies, mammals and insects.

The Litchfield Community Center is located at 421 Bantam Road (Route 202) in Litchfield.
