>From Steve & Charla Spector, 15 October 2010, Silver Sands State Park -- Sparrow
numbers now building in Silver Sands SP.  For ex, in a single Russian Olive, 14
Savannahs and 5 White-crowned Sparrows (1 adult, 4 juv).  Construction activity
(pump station and boardwalk), anti-phragmites measures, and extensive
mowing might be decreasing the sparrow numbers this fall.  A note of caution as
the result of recent personal experience at Silver Sands: be careful when
walking through high grasses and brush: many deer are is the park
and contracting Lyme disease is a possibility.   charsjs at sbcglobal.net
