10/29 - East Hartford, pond next to Cabella's parking lot - 2 AMERICAN
AVOCETS and 4 GOLDEN PLOVERS (in the grass near the fence to the left of the
pond) continued at 5:45 p.m. despite the crowd assembling for the UConn game
at Rentschler Field.

Also, in a drive through the Rocky Hill Meadows - 1 adult Bald Eagle being
harassed by scores of crows. It ain't easy working for the Post Office.

"You must not know too much, or be too precise or scientific about birds and
trees and flowers and watercraft; a certain free margin, and even
vagueness--perhaps ignorance, credulity--helps your enjoyment of these
things." Walt Whitman in *Birds*, 1881.
