Passing along.

 From SH Johnston:
10/29/10 - Farmington, Farmington Meadows and environs -- 1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW (juv), 13 AMERICAN PIPITS, 1 BROWN CREEPER, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON (ad) dive-bombing a resplendent male Ring-Necked Pheasant, and 1 MERLIN harassing 1 NORTHERN HARRIER (juv). Also 57 Ruddy Ducks and 1 American Coot on Dunning Lake, where interesting waterfowl sometimes show up during migration. Interesting backyard event: A Hairy Woodpecker physically attacked a large chipmunk, pecking it so hard that the chipmunk fell from the tree trunk where they both were clinging.
