[CT Birds] Lighthouse Point & East Shore Park

10/31 East Shore Park,  Stopped in to see if any of the Cave Swallows seen at Lighthouse Point might have stopped at the wastewater plant.  No swallows, but 1-2 Red-breasted Nuthatches, 12+ Yellow-rumped Warblers, 1 Palm Warbler (western), 7 each of Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 25 Dark-eyed Juncos in the pines, and 1 Savannah, 7 White-throated, and 12 Song Sparrows all feeding along the fencerow.  A Merlin was bombing a Red-tailed that was perched on a light pole and a 2nd Red-tailed Hawk flew over.  A quick stop from 4:25 to 5:10 p.m. at Lighthouse Park produced 143 Cedar Waxwings, 1 American Kestrel, and a slew of sparrows in the butterfly garden, including, 9 imm. White-crowned Sparrows feeding together with 1 Lincoln's Sparrow, 1 Field Sparrow, 1 Savannah Sparrow, 10 Song, and 4 White-throated Sparrows.  Frank Gallo & Vanessa Mickan
