 Hi All,

A tough days watching today, where the midday lull (the phenomenon where hawks are possibly to high to see in a blue sky) lasted most of the day. However a second Goshawk for the day made up for it. This bird was ID'd as a probable 2nd year bird (with the help of Patrick Dugan) and was distinctly different to the heavily marked juvie early in the morning.

As well as continuing WC Sparrows (a few) Lincoln's Sparrow (one), Purple Finches and Siskins and a report of a probable Tennessee highlight was a 9:30am surge of perhaps as many as 1000 DE Juncos streaming through the trees northwards through the site. I have only seen this kind of concentration of Juncos once before after a massive sparrow fallout a couple of years back. Pretty amazing to witness this flood of birds.
