Off the subject of birds a bit, but still dealing with flying objects...
In today's Hartford Courant there is a notice that DEP is looking for any
reports of winter bat activity in order to help them to track "White Nose
Syndrome." Any sighting details of winter bat activity can be sent to
wildlife tech Christina Kocer at christina.kocer at ct.gov or by calling the
nearest wildlife division office listed at www.ct.gov/dep.

"You must not know too much, or be too precise or scientific about birds and
trees and flowers and watercraft; a certain free margin, and even
vagueness--perhaps ignorance, credulity--helps your enjoyment of these
things." Walt Whitman in *Birds*, 1881.
