I got a great clipping from a friend in Litchfield, CT of an article that was in New York Times on 20 Dec 2010 concerning the oldest red-tailed hawk found alive in the wild, 27 years and nine months old. This female red-tailed hawk was found on RT 17M in Monroe, NY and is currently at the Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ. Members of the Raptor Trust banded this hawk when she was 6 or 7 months old. One tough red-tailed hawk I would say.
