Here is the New Haven Bird Club's schedule of activities for June.

Bird Book Discussion Group:

Wednesday, June 22, 7:00 PM. Free and open to the public. The NHBC  
book club, Birds in Words, will be discussing Birdology: Adventures  
with a Pack of Hens, a Peck of Pigeons, Cantankerous Crows, Fierce  
Falcons, Hip Hop Parrots, Baby Hummingbirds, and One Murderously Big  
Dinosaur by Sy Montgomery.  The Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Rd.,

Field Trips:

First Wednesday Walk: White Memorial Foundation, Litchfield.   
Wednesday, June 1, 8:00 AM.  Free and open to the public. The  
preserve is home to more than 115 breeding species and is visited by  
many migrant species. Meet at the visitor center parking  lot.  Take   
Rte.  202,  turn  left  on  Bissell  Rd.,  then a right  into the

20th Annual Summer Bird Count. Free and Open to the Public.   
Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th.  This is a wonderful  
opportunity to work on your song identification and see what is  
nesting in your area.  Call Steve Mayo for the names of area captains

Family Bird Walk at East Rock Park. June 25, 8:30 AM.  Family bird  
walks are free and focus on what birds and other wildlife can be  
found at East Rock Park during different seasons.  Meet at the  
covered bridge by the parking lot next to the Eli Whitney Museum, 915  
Whitney Ave., in Hamden. All ages welcome.  For more information:
