7/17 Stratford, E. Broad St. / Housatonic Ave. - Tidal creek before Stratford
Marina & Outriggers Restaurant, at high tide: 42 Greater Yellowlegs, 4 Lesser
Yellowlegs, 20 Short-billed Dowitchers, 1 dowitcher, sp. (All shorebirds
roosting on old pilings), 6 Gadwall.

Access Rd. Pool (opposite R.E. Michael): 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 7 Lesser
Yellowlegs, 3 Least Sandpiper, 2 Killdeer.

Sikorsky Airport, and adjacent marsh: female Am. Kestrel, 2 Yellow-crowned
Night-Herons.

Housatonic River mouth, from both Stratford Point and Short Beach Park at high
tide: 500 Common Terns, 4 Least Terns. Distance to sandbars and breakwater, as
well as heat shimmer, hampered distinguishing anything uncommon/rare.

And a word to the wise: The mosquitoes at the McKinney Refuge (RR Trail and
around Warehouse Pond) are incredibly abundant and voracious. If you go, lather
up with bug dope, or wear an anti-mosquito suit.
