[CT Birds] July Lapland Longspur

Here's a remarkable record, a summer first for Connecticut. Maggie Peretto sent me photos of a molting adult male Lapland Longspur she took on Sunday, July 24, at the mouth of the Connecticut River. The latest records for this species in the state are 2 from May listed in "Connecticut Birds" (Zeranski and Baptist). "Birds of Massachusetts" lists one June date and none for July. "Birds of New York State" lists nothing later than May.
