And I had a late spring male in (the first week of?) May about 2-3 years ago at
the Longshore golf course driving range in Westport during rainy weather.

Subject: [CT Birds] Lapland Longspur records

I once had a Lapland Longspur in September on the old truck road which went
along the edge of the former landfill in Fairfield by Pine Creek. In those
days, the landfill was capped in dirt and sparse grasses and there had been
a Buff-breasted Sandpiper up there just a few days earlier. I have not
retained any records from that time, however it would have been in the late
1980's or very early 1990's.
