I was at Milford PT until 7 pm and the Black-neck Stilt was out in the marsh at the end of the point by the river mouth and the avocet was on a sandbar to the right of the main viewing platform.

9/2 Stratford, Prospect Dr., Stratford Point - LARK SPARROW still present,
feeding in old grassy paved lot below the red mower at 5:45 - 6:00 pm. It
appeared much like the "drab 1st winter" as illustrated in Sibley.

9/2 Stratford, Dorne Drive, Short Beach, 6:50 - 7:40pm - thousands of birds
(gulls, terns, cormorants, shorebirds) in the Housatonic River mouth, and on the
exposed sandbars. Highlights were 4 juv. BLACK SKIMMERS, juv. Peregrine Falcon
chasing everything up (and eating a shorebird). Did not see the Avocet nor the
B-N Stilt.
