Most of Seaside Park in Bridgeport remained shutoff to traffic today. There
was reportedly severe damage to the seawall along the water's edge there as
a result of Hurricane Irene. However, it was possible to take Atlantic
Avenue (from it's juncture with Iranistan Avenue) all the way out to the far
western end of the park, where the large, grassy field is located. There
was a a flock of 18 Lesser Yellowlegs in a rain pool out there, as well as 1
Pectoral Sandpiper, a single White-rumped Sandpiper and the more usual
"peep" etc. The fishing pier out there, at the mouth of Black Rock Harbor,
was destroyed by the storm.

Yesterday (Tuesday), the number of Black Skimmers at Milford Point had
increased to 14 (12 juveniles and 2 adults) during mid-afternoon.
